Nominate a child-care provider, and give them the respect they deserve! Featuring: Keynote Speaker-Zachary Richardson; Many and new and exciting workshops and classes; Earn in-service hours or CEU's;Conference registration is $10 per attendee and CEU's will be provided at minimal cost! Continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.

Health Resources & Services Administrations's Maternal & Child Health Bureau DataSpeak Web Conference-Children's Emotional, Behavioral, and Developmental Well-Being: New Data and Tools for the Field-According to the National Survey of Children's Health, 11.3 percent of children in the United States are affected by emotional, behavioral, or developmental conditions, based on parental report. This web conference is intended to provide participants with national- and state-level data on prevalence of these conditions, with a discussion of the rise in autism rates, specifically. There will also be information on the role that public health professionals can play in helping primary care providers to provide appropriate care for this population.

Stomping Out Type Two Diabetes

You won’t want to miss this day of family fun and free Diabetes screening as Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, The City of Tallahassee, Premier Health & Fitness, and the Foundation team up to raise money and community awareness to combat Type 2 Diabetes. Gulf Winds Track Club and Capital City Cyclists will be donating registration proceeds from their 5K run/walk and 10K mountain bike races to help our public schools fund wellness programs. There are divisions for both experienced and beginning runners and riders, so please visit these sites to register: http://www.gulfwinds.org and http://cccyclists.org/

In addition to the race and rides, there will also be a:

Celebrity Activity Center where children can participate in activities with local celebrities and gain information about wellness and healthy choices. Prizes for those who finish the activity center!
Firefighters will also be on hand to demonstrate how they combine work and exercise to maintain wellness!
Park and Recreation will be showcasing their programs, as well as creating some fun stations at the park!
Schools will be competing for the most participants at the event, so please check with your schools to make sure you're involved!
